ENTERPRISE ROLE OVERVIEW:
Participates in the development and maintenance of a business and system architecture and conducts business information flow studies. Provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies that will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals. Conducts system architecture studies of new and existing IT systems to permit development of integrated systems that operate at low cost levels. Recommends the appropriate computer platform, work stations and communication linkage required to support distributed and client server business processes and information flows. Interfaces with business areas to ensure all initiatives support business strategies and goals. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 7-10 years of systems experience.
Technical:
• Ability to create technical vision for a division
• Experience developing large-scale, user-facing web sites and applications
• Experience with leading process change
• Experience evaluating tools, technologies, and process to best fit with existing practices
• Experience working with Service Oriented Architectures
• Experience working in a continuous delivery environment
• Possess deep technical understanding of portal technologies including the use of Message Buses, Struts/Springs frameworks, Distributed Caching, Restful processing, traditional databases (and SQL / NOSQL databases), Java/ J2EE technology, designing and developing reusable components, design patterns, mainstream web technologies (i.e. JavaScript, JSON, HTML5, CSS3) and application performance tuning.
• Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to adjust to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to identify and raise key technical and/or process issues and collaborate with others to find solutions.
• Experience with SDLC / SW development processes (RUP, Agile, Waterfall).
Communication and Relationship Skills:
• Ability to communicate with C-level and senior executives on technical matters
• Lead effectively in a matrix organization with teams of skilled architects, developers and business partners with minimal supervision
• Resolve and influence the positive outcome of conflicting objectives and priorities
• Express ideas verbally and in writing to effectively communicate with and influence teammates, technology partners, business leaders and executives
• Experience creating technical documentation and training material
• Experience leading technical change in a non-hierarchical environment
• Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with local and remote co-workers
Governance / Oversight:
• Provide critical alignment between Technology and Business processes.
• Ensure critical alignment to Enterprise reference architectures.
• Lead efforts to define and adopt effective Enterprise reference architecture standards.
• Represent the organization on architecture review boards, COEs, and other governing bodies.
Program Accountability / Design Authority:
• Provide technical architecture leadership on architecture engagements aligned to projects and initiatives, including vendor and solution assessments.
• Participate in architecture consulting and advisory engagements to assist in making architectural decisions that adhere to technical architecture designs, principles and standards.
Education / Experience:
• Minimum of 4 year degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• At least 15 years of experience in application systems design, construction, implementation, and maintenance
• At least 15 years of experience working with technical design process and models
• Candidate with Cloud Integration experience in past is preferred

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Strong Technical Architecture leader needed to transform the technical architecture for the Global Wholesale Banking division of Bank of America. The qualifying candidate will be responsible for leading the creation, maintenance and adoption of the division’s technical frameworks. This includes but is not limited to developing the frameworks, working with Solution Architects and development resources to apply them in projects and evolving the frameworks to meet current and future needs. The initial focus of this position will be to update and operationalize the current MVP pattern based UI framework.
